Helen was born and raised in North Wales and graduated in graphic design from the Norwich School of Art. She worked for ten years in archaeology in England and Wales. In 1995 she moved to Canada with her husband and son where she began to concentrate on her illustration work. She has now been working as an illustrator for over twenty years and has illustrated more than 100 books for children and adults published in North America and the UK. In 2005 Helen returned to North Wales with her family where she now lives and works in the tiny village of Abergwyngregyn at the base of the Snowdonia mountains, and close to the sea.
